About
I’m James. I live here in very West Wales. You can go no further West, in fact, without getting wet. I often get wet.
I take pictures. Constantly looking for a new or unusual perspectives.
I’ve got this idea that by photographing those things that intrigue me, those things that I discover, ponder, beholdhold dear, it may develop into something of a habit others may share and appreciate.
Here are some of the things some of the things I like doing most…
Seeing ‘n’ being. Beholding landscape and the sea’s very margin. Wild-swimming wherever there’s water deep enough. Wild-walking wherever the land is ancient enough, empty enough, high enough. Riding out and over the Preseli range on a flea bitten grey called Blue. Literature ‘n’ poetry ‘n’ philosophy ‘n’ stuff. Swigging coffee in civilised backwaters. Recording thoughts and images, regardless of how ridiculous they may seem and minus probing too hard for meaning; meaning, I’ve found, not always being apparent/present no matter how careful the probing. And often, anyway, irrelevant.
But mostly…I take pictures of the land, the sea and other stuff. And so have now, and with the help and support of my life partner and greatest friend Claire, decided it is something I would like to turn into a job as I cannot think of a better way to make a living wage.
