Yorkshire born Artist Dave Armstrong works from his home studio in Chester le Street, County Durham.

After leaving a 29 year career in the family construction business, he now divides his time between being a foster parent and his creative work.

Whilst having some formal art training, Dave considers himself to be largely self taught. He is an admirer of some of the great Welsh artists such as Wilf Roberts and Sir Kyffin Williams and this appreciation can be seen in his own aspirational painting style. His work features a merger of real and imagined scenes, with inspiration coming easily from the beautiful Northern dales, vales and rugged coastline.

Working primarily with Acrylics, his paintings feature strong tone and a harmonious muted colour palette; producing his trademark, simple yet striking scenes.
