‘’I am a self taught artist and have lived in Pembrokeshire all my life. I am currently living near the Preseli Hills but for this exhibition have chosen the coastal landscape that Pembrokeshire is known for. Through my love of painting, local history, pattern and colour, I hope to have captured the uniqueness and drama of my home county.’’
Chantelle lets her imagination and the atmosphere of a place dictate the painting, her work is both naive and representational in style, and is influenced by her local surroundings and skies. There is usually a measure of tension within her paintings reflecting life, remaining unique yet needing to belong. Pembrokeshire is unique, yet has a deep sense of home and belonging that is evident through her body of work.
